A Swap For All Seasons is a lovely spot to visit if you like swaps. I personally do not do very many swaps, but I found this fun site and liked her posts, so I thought I would join. I have found the swaps to be like Christmas in the fact that you think of your swap partner all month and look/shop for "just the right thing" which makes me feel happy inside....thinking about someone else and not myself.
I have to mail my swap package this week, probably tomorrow.... but here is a sneak peak of part of my package. If you like swaps, or even if you don't, skip on over to her site and browse.
......I like the thought of a June Bride with all the pretty flowers, an outdoor wedding in the garden and reception in a billowy white tent with the orchestra....
dancing....little sparkle lights all around......however, our weather here in S.E. Idaho is never good for outside June unpredictable....August is actually better for outdoor weddings.

HAPPY JUNE everyone!

First senior moment!
I got this email today and this is how I am feeling lately! I didn't take my camera to quilt market....I will have to wait for someone to send me some photos so I can share.

I hired my good friend Susan to make this bag for me to take to quilt market next week. The pattern is Indydo Junction's Grids and Grommets Bag.
I know you may be wondering why I hired it out? I don't enjoy making bags. They never seem to be exactly I hired a professional! It was worth every cent! The fabric is OZ by Sanae for MODA.

You know those little pin cushions-thread catchers you use by your sewing machine? I sew with a group of women every Wednesday and we all have at least one. One year for Christmas, Susan gave us all one of these cute purple ones. The DMWMW letters stand for....Don't Mess With My Wednesday. Notice the puny amount of pins I have!Yesterday at sewing day, I looked over and saw all these pins on one pin cushion and thought they looked so great. I think I had "sewing pin envy!" I for sure do not even own that many sewing pins total.
It almost looked like a bouquet of daffodils! And look at the circle blocks Lori is working on, I will show you those later. What a wonderful group of women I get to associate with every week.....and we don't husband bash or gossip.
LuJean and Beverly were making these DARLING thread catchers yesterday. I had to find the pattern....and isn't it just so cute? I will need to make myself one of these! Check about all the fun patterns at Abby Lane Quilts, and they have to blog too. So many things to little time!

This is part of an old quilt that I made into a new table runner.
I added strip pieced blocks. I sewed the blocks directly on top of the old quilt.
I love the strip piecing, so satisfying to use all those little scraps.
This is how the table runner turned out. I bound it just like a regular quilt.
Then I used the leftover old quilt to make skirts for doll dresses.
The quilt was pale to begin with....and after tea staining...the skirts were really pale!
The bottom of the skirt is the ratty binding edge of the quilt.
Off to the shop!

Is anyone clapping at your house when you clean the toilet? Not at my house. No one ever thanked me for cleaning the toilet, or made a fuss that I did.
Blogging for me, and I think for many of you is a way to make new friends, celebrate our similarities, support each other's talents and cheer each other on in difficult times. Life is a lot tougher than our mother's, we need each other, we need positive affirmation! CELEBRATE each other's lives! I am cheering for all of you!
